Debbie Spreadbury also joined the STA in November, as a part-time Customer Service Representative at the Solano Mobility Call Center. She is a longtime resident of Solano County and is retired from the City of Fairfield Police Department. Debbie also reports to Lloyd Nadal, Program Services Division Manager.
Solano Community College students can ride buses for FREE in Solano County. STA is coordinating with transit operators and SCC to offer reduced fares each semester. An app will be available soon to purchase fares. During this initial trial period, show your SCC Student ID and ride FREE on Vacaville City Coach, FAST and SolTrans local and SolanoExpress buses!!
October 10th was International Walk to School Day and STA’s Safe Routes to School (SR2S) Program staff teamed up with Solano County Public Health and 7 local school districts to participate in the event by organizing walks to and from school. Over 8,500 students in 48 schools across Solano County participated by getting out of their cars and walking to school. Thank you to everyone that helped organize and participate in this event! Caltrans is currently proceeding with the design phase of the I-80/I-680/SR 12 Interchange Packet 2A Project. In order to keep on track with the approved project delivery schedule, Caltrans requested that STA perform the right of way acquisition for the project, which will occur during Spring and Summer of 2019. Project construction is scheduled for 2020.
On October 18th, over a 130 attendees identified and discussed solutions to improve mobility challenges raised at the previous seven Mobility Summits, which were held in each city in Solano County. The highest priority issues identified based on 2,200 surveys for Older Adults and People with Disabilities, were difficulties traveling to medical appointments and to daily activities.
