SUISUN CITY – Do you know an exceptional bicycle rider, policymaker, educator, or advocate making a difference in Solano County? Nominate them for Solano County’s 2025 Bike Champion of the Year (BCOY).
Every year, each of the nine Bay Area Counties selects their Bike Champion. They’re recognized for their dedication to promoting bicycling as a primary mode of transportation and for their ability to inspire others in their local communities. Help us spotlight the people making Solano County a better place to live and bike. Winners will receive prizes and recognition Bay Area-wide!
Nomination forms for the 2025 Bike Champion of the Year open March 1, 2025, and will be live through March 31, 2025. We’ll announce the winners at the end of April, just in time to be celebrated during Bike to Wherever Days throughout May. Go to https://bayareabiketowork.com/event-information/bike-champion-of-the-year and submit your nomination.
“Biking is a great way to improve physical and mental health, and the environment,” said STA Board Chair and Solano County Supervisor Mitch Mashburn. “The Bike Champion of the Year award is a wonderful way to recognize individuals who inspire others to get on their bikes and ride wherever they need to go.
Bay Area Bike to Wherever Days is presented by MTC (the transportation planning, financing, and coordinating agency for the nine-county San Francisco Bay Area), 511 (the region’s traveler information system), and Amazon, with Regional sponsors The Bay Area Air Quality Management District (Spare the Air) and BART.
