Plan Bay Area 2040 (MTC’s Regional Transportation Plan) (2017)

The Metropolitan Transportation Commission’s (MTC) Plan Bay Area is the 9-county Bay Area’s long-range regional transportation plan (RTP), and any project that is funded in part by federal or state funds must be listed in the Plan Bay Area. The current RTP is Plan Bay Area 2040, which was adopted by the MTC Commission in July 2017. MTC is currently going through the Horizons/Plan Bay Area 2050 effort, which will result in the next adopted RTP in 2022.
