I-80/I-680/SR12 Interchange: 2 Consecutive Overnight Closures

Closed Overnight During Two Consecutive Nights
Closures Start 7:00 PM Tuesday, April 12, 2022

SOLANO COUNTY – As part of the I-80/I-680/SR-12 Interchange Project in Fairfield, Caltrans has scheduled two consecutive nights of overnight closures of the eastbound (EB) I-80 Green Valley Road Exit, the EB I-80 connector ramp to southbound (SB) I-680 and the eastbound SR-12 connector to eastbound I-80.

Caltrans will close the EB I-80 Green Valley Road Exit on Tuesday, April 12 and Wednesday, April 13 at 7:00 PM both nights until 5:00 AM the following mornings.

The EB I-80 connector to southbound I-680 will be closed Tuesday, April 12 and Wednesday, April 13 at 8:00 PM both nights until 4:00 AM the following mornings.

The eastbound SR-12 connector to eastbound I-80 will also be closed on Tuesday, April 12 and Wednesday, April 13 at 8:00 PM both nights until 5:00 AM the following mornings.

Caltrans continues construction of transition lanes at the I-80/I-680/SR-12 Interchange. Detours will be clearly marked. All work is weather- permitting.

EB I-80 Green Valley Road Exit-Detour Route:
• Continue on EB I-80 past the Green Valley Road exit.
• From EB I-80, take the Suisun Valley Road exit
• Make an immediate right onto Pittman Road.
• Continue on Pittman Road.
• Right onto Cordelia Road.
• Then Right on Lopes Road.
• Continue on Lopes Road until it becomes Green Valley Road.

EB I-80 Connector to SB I-680 CLOSURE-Detour Route:
• Continue on EB I-80 past the SB I-680 connector exit.
• Exit EB I-80 at Chadbourne Road.
• Left on Chadbourne Road.
• Continue on Chadbourne Road over the overcrossing.
• Left onto WB I-80 from Chadbourne Road.
• Continue on WB I-80.
• From WB I-80, exit onto SB I-680.

Solano County Collaborative Regional Housing Element Meetings

The Solano County Housing Element Collaborative, comprised of the cities of Benicia, Dixon, Fairfield, Rio Vista, Suisun City, Vacaville, Vallejo, and the County of Solano, invites you to participate in a virtual workshop to discuss the findings of the joint Housing Needs Assessment of the Regional Housing Element. Following the community meetings held on January 26th and 27th, the Collaborative conducted an analysis of demographic, economic, and housing trends in each jurisdiction. The workshops being held on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at 11:30am and 6:00pm, will provide a summary of this analysis and discuss additional topics guided by your input.

Please join us to learn more about this section of the Housing Element, provide feedback on specific needs, and share your insights on how housing opportunities can be improved locally and on a regional level.

These meetings will be interactive and conducted online. Meeting participants can join by desktop, tablet, and phone. Please register for one of the meetings at the Eventbrite link below to receive further information about how to join. We look forward to seeing you there!

10-Hour Full I-80 WB/EB Overnight Closure Dec. 4-Dec. 5

10 Hour Full Interstate 80 WB/EB Overnight Closure Starting Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021 at 11:00 PM until 9:00 AM, Sunday, Dec. 5, 2021

SOLANO COUNTY – Caltrans will perform a 10-hour full Interstate 80 overnight closure near the City of Fairfield, as part of the Interstate 80/Interstate 680/State Route 12 Interchange Project, which will demolish the old existing eastbound SR-12 to eastbound I-80 connector bridge.
Crews will remove the existing bridge spans of the EB SR-12 to EB I-80 connector bridge.
The full closure will begin at 11:00 PM on Saturday, Dec. 4, until 9:00 AM on Sunday, Dec. 5, 2021.

INTERSTATE 80 WB/EB DETOUR INFORMATION:
Westbound I-80 travelers: Motorists traveling westbound will need to enter onto the I-680 connector ramp and travel southbound to connect to I-780 (Curtola Parkway) back onto I-80 while the overnight closures are in place.
Eastbound I-80 travelers: Motorists traveling eastbound on I-80 will need to exit Red Top Road onto Lopes Road back and follow the detour back onto the I-80 EB on-ramp.

There won’t be access through the closure with the bridge coming down.

Caltrans will utilize flaggers, as well as overhead and portable changeable message signs, alerting motorists of the detour and potential delays which are expected to be approximately 30-45 minutes.
This work is scheduled to begin as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment, and/or materials and construction related issues.
