Extreme weather events increasingly threaten Solano County’s transportation system, with wildfires and flooding disrupting key routes and infrastructure. In response, local jurisdictions have initiated climate adaptation and resiliency plans.
Building on this work, the Solano Transportation Authority (STA) is developing the Solano Transportation Resiliency Plan to make the county’s transportation network more reliable and resilient to the extreme weather events of both today and the future. The Solano Transportation Resiliency Plan, in partnership with all seven Solano County cities and the County of Solano, will assess the existing transportation system – from Routes of Regional Significance, Transit Facilities of Regional Significance (such as the Valley Ferry Terminal and the Solano Rail Hub and Hannigan Station), and active transportation facilities – to identify the infrastructure vulnerable to extreme weather events and recommend improvements.
As part of the plan development process, the STA will be seeking input from Solano County residents on their experiences with extreme weather events, the impacts on local transportation infrastructure, and their priorities for the Solano Transportation Resiliency Plan. Public engagement is scheduled for Summer 2025, and this webpage will be updated with additional details on upcoming workshops and the public survey.
Please check back regularly for the latest updates on the development of this plan.
