Start of work: Friday, July 24 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following mornings

SOLANO COUNTY

Caltrans is scheduled to start installation of a Trash Capture Device project on Interstate 80 (I-80) in the city of Fairfield. Prior to construction, k-rails will be put into place in Fairfield from Pittman Road to the North Texas Street overcrossing.

This requires nighttime lane closure at multiple locations. Closures will occur nightly starting on Friday July 24, from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the next mornings.

This project will install trash capture systems that will stop trash from going out into water sources. It will also entail update of guardrails and construction of mainline pull outs for maintenance vehicles and erosion control. Project will be in construction until January 2027.

Locations:
• Eastbound on and off-ramps to and from Pittman Road
• Westbound I-80 near State Route 12 (SR-12)
• Westbound I-80 near Air Base Parkway
• Various locations along I-80 in Fairfield from Pittman Road to the North Texas Street overcrossing.
